National Conference on “Green Hydrogen and Industrial Decarbonization: Building India’s End-to-End Ecosystem for Energy Transition

February 10th 2026

India’s Green Hydrogen Mission for Industrial Decarbonization and Energy Security

India is at a critical stage of its energy transition, targeting developed-nation status by 2047 and Net Zero emissions by 2070.
Green hydrogen is a key solution to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors while strengthening energy security and industrial competitiveness.
Launched in 2023, the National Green Hydrogen Mission provides an integrated framework to build India’s green hydrogen ecosystem.
The Mission links decarbonization with industrial growth, reduced fossil fuel imports, and long-term energy security, positioning India as a global hydrogen hub.
In India, green hydrogen is defined as hydrogen produced using renewable energy pathways with lifecycle emissions below 2 kg CO₂e per kg of hydrogen.
By 2030, the Mission targets 125 GW of renewable capacity, major investments and jobs, reduced fossil fuel imports, and significant emissions reductions.
